Location & Area

Il Garofano cottage is perched above the village of Atrani and just below Ravello, on the middle of the Amalfi Coast the most charming coast line in Southern Italy.

A ten-minute drive takes you to the town of Ravello or the nearest shopping area. The ancient trail connecting Ravello and Atrani passes alongside the building. It leads down through the centre of Atrani, which is a pedestrian area. In Atrani there is a lovely little square surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants with outdoor seating, and you can also easily reach the beaches only 3 Km. from the main square in Amalfi, it is near to the beach and restaurants.
From the docks in Amalfi you will also be able to board ferries and hydrofoils to Positano, Capri, Salerno or Sorrento and Naples, as well as go on mini-cruises for tourists. You must indeed take a tour of the coast from the sea.
If you are fond of archaeology, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum are easily within reach, and, of course, Naples and Salerno as well.

Check-in procedure

Check-in time is between 3 and 8 p.m. You will be taken to the booked accommodation and will be asked for a photo copy of your Id or passport, any extras and the Breakage deposit (in cash only) Euro 300,00 – this is refunded on your departure day, less any breakages.

We strongly recommend contacting our land agents the day before or early morning of your arrival day, to let them know how you intend getting to the resort and approximate arrival time, they will in this occasion be able to advise of any local festas, roads closed etc...

Check-out time is between 06:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

Arrival and departure times can be arranged outside these times for this service a supplement of Euro 55,00 is applied.

Local Supplements

From the 30th of March 2013 the daily tariff is intended for maximum 2 persons, extra person in divan bed supplement is £ 5,00 per person per day. Children up to 10 years old free of charge.

Highchair and Cot ( Baby under 2 years old ) with linen are available at weekly supplement of Euro 55,00 payable locally.
Welcome pack service charge Euro 10,00 - Our English speaking local agent in Italy provides a personal shopping service for food items which they deliver to the accommodation prior to your arrival. This is not a set welcome pack but is tailored to your individual requirements. If you are interested in this option, please contact us via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and give us your list of items including quantities. It is important to do this at least a week before your departure. You will need to pay in cash on arrival at the property, so please ensure you have taken enough Euros with you. You will be charged the local price for the goods (a receipt will be given) plus a delivery charge of 10,00 Euro.
If required Heating Euro 12,00 per day (6 hours).
Final cleaning charge Euro 50,00 payable upon departure.

Municipal Holiday Residence Tax payable locally in cash.

How to get there

There are several ways to get to the Amalfi Coast from Naples Capodichino Airport or Naples / Salerno Train station either by renting a car or by public transport.
It is also possible to arrange private transfer directly to Ravello/property.

Once at the property you can get around fine without the car as parking in the towns is hard to come by and expensive. Public Busses operate year - around connecting all the Amalfi Coast villages and Sorrento area.
Ferries (from May to October) operate a service between Amalfi – Positano – Sorrento – Capri Island – Naples and Salerno.

Policies & disclaimers

Bookings / Payments: Within option expiry day 30% deposit is required in order to confirm the booking. Balance payment is due 45 days prior to arrival date.
Cancellations and Curtailments by the client: Once payment is received and voucher ( Booking Confirmation ) issued, any amendments or cancellations will incur the following charges:
Cancellation fees:
10% Of full rental amount from date of confirmation, up to 45 days prior to rental commencement period.
50% Of full rental amount 44 – 30 days prior to rental commencement period.
90% Of full amount 29 – 07 days prior to rental commencement period.
100% Of full rental amount less than 7 days prior to rental commencement or during period.
